Marcin Włodarczak is a researcher in the Phonetics Lab at the Department of Linguistics, Stockholm University and a Primary Investigator in project Breathing in conversation (Andning i samtal) funded by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) until 2018.
In the project, together with Professor Mattias Heldner, they investigate interactional functions of breathing in spontaneous multiparty conversation.
In addition to respiratory activity in interaction, his research focuses on prosodic and multimodal features of overlapping speech and feedback expressions. He has also done some work on semantics and pragmatics of dialogue acts.
Marcin got his Ph.D. in Linguistics from Bielefeld University (Temporal entrainment in overlapping speech), in January 2014.
