Anechoic chamber
The Anechoic chamber is an essential part of the Phonetics Lab.

It provides a noise-free and echo-free environment. The echo-free room is used for recordings that require highly controlled acoustic conditions. State-of-the-art microphones and recording devices are used during recording sessions. All recordings are monitored and mastered outside the Anechoic chamber using a computer, a CD- or DAT-recorder. An intercommunication device and a TV-monitor are available as means of communication between subjects sited in the chamber and the experiment leader in the control room.
The technical solutions of the Anechoic chamber include a range of Brüel & Kjaer microphones and devices for sound calibration.
