The Department of Linguistics offers a range of courses and programmes:

First Level (up to a Bachelor's degree)
Second Level (up to a Master's degree)
Third Level (up to a doctoral degree, PhD)

Our Master’s Programme in Language Sciences is a comprehensive two-year programme conducted in English. The majority of the courses on the lower levels are conducted in Swedish, which means that you are required to have a good command of the Swedish language. The Department of Scandinavian Languages offers Swedish courses for foreign academics accepted to study at Stockholm University; however, you will not be able to follow classes in Swedish until you have reached a certain competence.
