This painting is ascribed to Hendrick van Cleve (ca. 1525 - 1589) and belongs to the tradition of paintings with the same motive the most well-known exponent of which is Pieter Brueghel the Elder (ca. 1530 - 1569). It is part of the J.A. Berg collection of art, which was donated to Stockholm University (then Stockholms Högskola) in 1884.
